Over the years, we've developed a system for tackling just about any problem, it's called VSE123. Here's how it works.

The first step in any endeavor is to define the goal. It must be S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-targeted). We call that the Vision.

The next step is to develop an effective plan for achieving the Vision, which is tightly focused on the SMART goals. That's the Strategy.

The third and final step is implementing the Strategy and achieving the Vision. That is known as Execution.

That's the VSE. The 123 is a reminder that what gets measured gets managed. If you want to achieve a goal, find a way to measure your progress and results, and it will happen. Without the discipline of managing by the numbers, it is far too easy to go astray and fail to achieve success.
